THE PEOPLE OF:DRACULA
PRODUCTION MANAGER: Eric Dickman - Eric is happy to be working on another show at Burien Little Theatre. You may remember him from his work as a sound designer and his giving a hand as a set builder. This time, with the gracious guidance of Maggie Larrick, Eric is trying his hand as a producer. Keeping in mind that it is always good to try something new, why don’t you volunteer at Burien Little Theatre? DIRECTOR:Steve Cooper - Steve is very excited to be directing his second production with BLT, the first being last season's wildly successful Visiting Mr. Green. No stranger to BLT, Steve has designed sets and lights for previous productions of Sylvia, Angry Housewives and Art. Steve has also direccted for GreenStage, heading up last summer's Midsummer Night's Dream and White Cat Production's Dust of Providence this past winter. He also designs and stage manages for other companies around the Sound, such as Ghostlight Theatricals, SIS Productions and Centerstage in Federal Way. He is looking forward to working with this great group of actors and designers to bring the world of Dracula to life for you.
STAGE MANAGER: Michelle Rodriguez - This is Michelle's first show with Burien Little Theatre and is happy to have found so many fabulous people here. Since returning to Seattle from Los Angeles, she has been following Steve Cooper around the city. In the Spring she stage managed Robin Hood: The Legend Continues for Centerstage in Federal Way and could most recently be found hiding in the bushes, beating a drum (aka "stage managing") for Greenstage's summer production of Richard III. Many thanks to the amazing cast and brilliant designers that have made this production so wonderful. CAST:
Renfield: Joseph McGuire - This production could very well mark the return of one the stage’s greatest actors. Joseph, however, is not that actor. A graduate of the University of Missouri Conservatory of Music in Kansas City, he began his journey in the arts as an opera singer, appearing with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Civic Opera Theatre of KC, and the Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony. Variety being the spice of life, he spent much of that time perfecting his craft as a professional makeup artsit, at which time he left the performing life behind to work backstage. He has designed makeup and wigs for The Kansas City Lyric Opera, Coterie Childrens Theatre, Civic Opera Theatre of KC, Atlanta Ballet, UMKC Conservatory as well as spending time as a trainer for MAC Cosmetics and now holding the position of Color Specialist for Sephora. Since relocating to Seattle, he joined the Seattle Men’s Chorus and begun the long journey to becoming a lifelong member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at the Abbey of St. Joan. In his spare time he does nothing seeing as he doesn’t actually have any...spare time, that is. And hopefully, Phyliss is somewhere enjoying the show.
Lucy Westenra: Carolyn Monroe - Carolyn is thrilled to be working with such fabulous cast and crew in her first production in the Seattle area. In Portland, she has worked with The Northwest Children’s Theater, Hillsboro Actor’s Repertory Theater, Tygres Heart Shakespeare Company, Profile Theater Project and Liminal Theater. Favorite roles include The Evil Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, Olivia in Twelfth Night and Nora in Riders to the Sea. Carolyn recently completed an intensive training at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Massachusetts. She has also appeared in multiple locations as your local barista. Hopefully, she was nice to you.
Mina Murray: Telisa Steen - Telisa is excited to be a part of an extraordinary team of people in her first show with Burien Little Theatre. Her most recent works include Sonya in Uncle Vanya with Seattle Novyi Theatre, and Kindly in the film History of a Book Club by Weathersby Productions. Telisa is committed to her life purpose of expressing truth and experience through acting. To support her creativity she enjoys studying ballet, meditating, seeing as much theatre as possible, and living in the moment. She would like to express her gratitude to Erwin, her friends and family for being an incredible support system, and to her Dad, for teaching her about living life to the fullest.
Dr. John Seward: Michael Albert - Michael is thrilled to be involved in his first production with BLT. He has previously appeared in Dames at Sea as the Captain and Hennessey and in Noises Off! As Frederick for Paradise Theatre in Gig Harbor, WA, as well as Benvolio in Paper Trail Production’s Romeo and Juliet, presented on the Fremont Troll. Michael graduated from Central Washington University in 2005 with his BA in Theatre with a Performance emphasis, but also enjoys writing, winning the ACTF Regional John Cauble award for his farce When Life Hands You Yemen… In what little spare time he has, Michael enjoys video games, baseball, football, basketball and golf, as well as the golden glory that is beer. So many thanks for my Maggie, for her enduring patience with me.
Jonathan Harker: Thomas Maier - Thomas is only recently returned to the Seattle theater scene after a year away in Washington DC. He just finished playing Sir William Catesby, King Edward, and other roles in Richard III for Greenstage Theater's Shakespeare in the Park, and has apeared in shows for Stone Soup, Renton Civic Theater, The New Everett theater, and can be seen for about 4 seconds as in extra in the movie Step Up. Thomas graduated from Central Washington University in 2004 with a BA in Theater Arts with emphasis on performance and playwrighting. In his nonexistant spare time he enjoys hiking, sailing, reading, video games and barbecue.
Professor Abraham Van Helsing: Don MacEllis - Don is elated to return to the scene of the crime having met the love of his life, his wife Laurie, at BLT in A Time To Kill 10 years ago he never thought he'd make it back to the south end but in fact here we are. A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in '91. He currently makes his home in West Seattle and has spent the last seven years honing his classical skills on Shakespeare with Greenstage and appearing in numerous Indie films and TV pilots, none of which have yet to make it. Love to Laurie and the kids: Sluggo, Seamus, & Coco. Van Helsing Out. PS Thanx to "Coop" fo the opportunity.
Count Dracula: Ken Holmes - Ken has been active in theatre in Seattle since 1993 when he appeared in The Real Inspector Hound here at BLT. He was last seen on stage in Book-It Repertory Theatre's production of A Tale of Two Cities, and this past summer he directed The Two Gentlemen of Verona for GreenStage, where he serves as Producing Artistic Director. With GreenStage, Ken is proud to have acted in, directed, or helped produced thirty two of Shakespeare's plays. As an actor, Ken has also worked with Seattle Shakespeare Company, Taproot Theatre, Theater Schmeater, Centerstage, ArtsWest, and Seattle Repertory Theatre. He is currently directing the Short Shakes youth produciton of Pericles for Seattle Shakespeare Company, where he also works as Publications Manager. When not busy with theater, Ken works as a freelance graphic designer and photographer, and in his free time loves spending time working on his house, playing with his dog, and hanging out with his lovely wife, Lisa.
Vixen / Maid: Anna Richardson - Anna is excited to be making her Seattle stage debut in Burien Little Theater’s production of Dracula, having just moved here from Baton Rouge, LA. Previous shows include The Merchant of Venice, Metamorphoses, Big Love, and Arms and the Man. She has also recently completed the short film Misandry. Love to Mom, Dad, and Emma, who are very proud to have a vampire in the family.
Vixen / Attendant: Jackie Graybill- Jackie's background is in music. She produced a CD of original piano duets with her sister Jessica, managed a piano studio of 60 students and used her pianistic talents to win the title of Miss Puget Sound 2006 and finish as a Top 10 finalist at Miss Washington. She recently returned from a semester in Italy where she studied photography, Italian film and opera. Jackie thanks everyone at Burien's Breeders Theater for introducing her to theater this summer. She was the stage manager and Page in Breeders' Out of the Nest. Jackie thanks the fantastic people of Dracula for welcoming a newbie with open arms and hearts and for letting her learn from each of them. She is truly honored to be part of this show.
Attendant / Waiter: Adrian Moynihan - Adrian Moynihan is a graduate of the University of Washington's B.A. program and has been featured in several productions since graduation in 2005. Most recently he was featured in Two Hours Traffic's original play Death Do Us Part at the Odd Duck Studio. In addition to several short films including one seen at the most recent 48 hour film festival, he also has numerous shakespeare productions to his credit including Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
DESIGNERS:
Original Music Score: Allan Loucks - This is Allen’s first time working with Burien Little Theatre. Allan is a composer and musician whose compositional credits range from symphonies to film, TV, theatre, choral works, dance, websites, and computer games. He also has many years of full-time on-the-road performing experience.
Set: Nathan Rodda - Dracula is the third production Nathan has designed for BLT. He has also designed for many local theaters including Arts West, Center Stage, Civil Light Opera, Seattle Public Theatre, and he is the staff designer for the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society. He is also a performer and co-owner of the Dickens Carolers. An Art History graduate from the UW, he is regularly self-employed as a design consultant in architecture and interiors.
Lights: Dave Baldwin - Dracula marks David’s first production with BLT. David is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts Theatre program some 20 odd years ago. Since then David has worked professionally as an electrician at the Seattle Children’s Theatre, the New City Theatre, The Broadway Performance Hall, Anchorage Civic Opera and Intiman, where David was also the Technical Director during the messy “Peter Pan” years. David has designed either sets or lights at just about every theater in Seattle that was converted from a (fill in the blank) and seats under 75. David considers himself to be the very best third rate lighting designer in his early 40’s in a 10 square mile area.
Speccial Lighting Effects: Craig Orsinger- Craig started working with Burien Little Theatre in the 1980s. His first production was The Oldest Living Graduate, for which he ran lights. He acted in Everybody Loves Opal and Ten Little Indians, and also stage managed the latter. He ran either lights or sound for a number of other productions, including The Odd Couple, Shadowbox, The Robin Hood Caper, The Stranger, and The Nerd. After designing lights for Crossing Delancy in 1992, he decided to take a short break from theatre. Since returning in 2005, he has worked on every production of BLT. He designed lights for A Tuna Christmas and Visiting Mr. Green, and stage managed Art. In his day job, Craig is a computer scientist. Costumer: Tracie E. Boyd - Has lived in western Washington most of her life. Her fascination with sewing came at a young age with loving mentoring from her grandma Amy and her Aunt Nell. Tracie’s first large scale sewing endeavor came at age 12 when she designed and made all of her own clothing for a family vacation to Hawaii. Her fascination with history and textiles has lead her to try many different textiles arts including spinning, weaver, and embroidery and lace making. Tracie was pleased to join BLT as the costume designer for Thugs: A Musical Mafiasco and Visiting Mr. Green during BLT's 2006-2007 season. She is looking forward to the creative opportunities of this coming years productions.
Properties: Karen Imas - Karen is pleased to work with Steve Cooper again on another adventurous prop extravaganza! She gained from the experiment an unstoppable imagination, unrelenting self-direction, and a passionate love of books and comics. She is a graduate of the graphic design school at Seattle Central Community College and is delighted to be contributing to the visual culture of her hometown. PRODUCTION MANAGER: Maggie Larrick - Maggie has acted, directed, stage-managed and done whatever needed to be done in Seattle fringe theaters, including Triad Ensemble and Theatre Schmeatre. Her work with Burien Little Theatre began in 2006 as assistant director and stage manager of the hit productions Sylvia and Angry Housewives. She directed a new play, Dazzle Your Eyes, for BLT’s 2006 Bill and Peggy Hunt Playwrights Festival, and Art for BLT’s 2006-07 season. Other hats Maggie has worn at BLT include production manager, publicity guru, stagehand and properties collector/creator. She thanks this cast for their energy, commitment and bringing her chocolate. DIRECTOR:Steve Cooper - Steve is very excited to be directing his third production with BLT, the last being this season's wildly successful Dracula. No stranger to BLT, Steve has designed sets and lights for previous productions of Sylvia, Angry Housewives and Art. Steve has also directed for GreenStage, recently heading up Midsummer Night's Dream, and White Cat Production's Dust of Providence. He also designs and stage manages for other companies around the Sound, such as Ghostlight Theatricals, SIS Productions and Centerstage in Federal Way. He is looking pleased to work with this great group of actors and designers to bring the vision of Christopher Durang to the stage.

A veteran of local theater in Seattle, New York, New Jersey and London, Karen has been music director and/or accompanist for numerous shows. She counts among her favorites Guys & Dolls, Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story, Nunsense, Chicago, Company, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Wizard of Oz. She is also eagerly anticipating the start of her next project, music directing BLT’s production of the musical comedy I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. Jackie Graybill - Young Jacob Marley, Child 1,Zuzu – from the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and Monica- Jackie has a background in music and produced a CD of original piano duets with her sister Jessica in addition to managing a piano studio of 60 students. Jackie was named Miss Puget Sound 2006 and finished as a Top 10 finalist at Miss Washington. She recently returned from a semester in Italy where she studied photography, Italian film and opera. Jackie thanks everyone at Burien's Breeders Theater for introducing her to theater, and the cast and crew of BLT's Dracula for the gift of their friendship, encouragement and
support and for always believing in her. She is thrilled to be working with BLT again and is truly honored to be part of this show.
Anna Richardson - Young Ebenezer Scrooge, Child 2, Bartender, andSerena a maid - Anna is pleased to be back at Burien Little Theatre. She was last seen in BLT's production of Dracula as the Vixen/Maid. Previous shows include The Merchant of Venice,

Heidi Jean Wrinrich - The Ghost - A great fan of Dickens and Durang, Heidi is tickled pinkish to be your Ghost Host for the evening. In her last Christmas show she played a bicycle-riding, buck-toothed, British nun with a yen for classical artwork and a life outside the convent. She hopes you enjoy her performance tonight and that she doesn’t trip on her platform shoes. Other favorite roles include Hermione in The Winter’s Tale, Nancy in Oliver, Florence Unger in The Odd Couple, Gloria in Grace and Glorie, Belinda in Noises Off, Claire in Rumors, and Mavis in The Murder Room. Heidi wishes to thank this very fun cast and crew for their hard work, sense of humor, and all things chocolate. A warm thanks also to you, the audience, and to Steve Perry for the wig.
Michael Albert - Ebenezer Scrooge - Michael is thrilled to be involved in his second production with BLT. He was last seen at BLT in Dracula this fall. Michael has previously appeared in Dames at Sea as the Captain and Hennessey and in Noises Off! As Frederick for Paradise Theatre in Gig Harbor, Washington, as well as Benvolio in Paper Trail Production’s Romeo and Juliet, presented on the Fremont Troll. Michael graduated from Central Washington University in 2005 with his B.A. in theater with a performance emphasis, but also enjoys writing, winning the ACTF Regional John Cauble award for his farce When Life Hands You Yemen…. In what little spare time he has, Michael enjoys video games, baseball, football, basketball and golf, as well as the golden glory that is beer. So many thanks for my Maggie, for her enduring patience with me.
Thomas Maier - Bob Cratchit- Thomas is only recently returned to the Seattle theater scene after a year away in Washington, D.C. He just performed the role of Jonathan Harker in BLT’s production of Dracula this fall. Prior to that he played Sir William Catesby, King Edward, and other roles in Richard III for GreenStage Theater's Shakespeare in the Park, and has appeared in shows for Stone Soup, Renton Civic Theater and The New Everett Theater. Thomas can also be seen for about 4 seconds as in extra in the movie Step Up. Thomas graduated from Central Washington University in 2004 with a B.A. in Theater Arts with emphasis on performance and playwriting. In his nonexistent spare time he enjoys hiking, sailing, reading, video games and barbecue.
Telisa Steen - Tiny Tim - Telisa is excited to be back at BLT for another show with yet another fantastic collaboration of dedication, support, and talent. She recently performed the role of Mina in Dracula here at Burien Little Theatre. Other recent works include: Sonya in Uncle Vanya with Seattle Novyi Theatre, Merike in episodes 2 & 3 of In the Event of a Zombie Attack by 4D4 Films, and Kindly in the short film History of a Book Club by Weathersby Productions. Telisa is committed to her life purpose of expressing truth and experience through acting. To support her creativity she enjoys studying ballet, meditating, seeing as much theater as possible, and living in the moment. She would like to express her gratitude to Erwin, her friends, and her family for being an incredible support system, and to her father, for teaching her about living life to the fullest.
Amy Wyatt - Mrs. Bob Cratchit- Amy is delighted to be making her debut here at BLT as an ornery Mrs. Bob. Zachariah Robinson - Gentleman 2 – Jeffrey Skilling -, Jacob Marley, George Bailey – from the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life," - andClarence – from the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” - Zachariah could not be happier to have this opportunity to work with BLT on this show. With a love of Monty Python, and The Far Side comics, a show by Christopher Durang seemed a perfect fit. No stranger to comedy, Zach has appeared in 10 plays and three films in the past year since moving to Seattle, including: Wonder of the World with Re-Act, Laughter on the 23rd Floor with SecondStory Rep, and Love, Sex, & the IRS with both Bellevue Civic and Redwood Theatre. With a degree in Theater Performance from Butler University, Zach, has performed in Indianapolis, Ohio, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Sydney, Australia. Upcoming projects include the independent feature film Liberation with Wonder Productions.

Laurie Winogrand - Mrs. Fezziwig, The Beadle’s Wife, Hedvig and Nice Mrs. Cratchit - This is Laurie's first Christmas show with no drag queens in it. In Christmas with the Crawfords she played Hedda Hopper. Most of the other shows she's been in had "murder" or "kill" in the title-a career theme of sorts. She also appeared in Star Drek, the Musical at AHA! Theatre before it too died. She thanks her husband, Don, and her wonderful castmates for sharing the stage with her. Season's greetings to all, and to all a good night.
Carolyn Marie Monroe - Little Nell - Carolyn is thrilled to return to BLT after playing Lucy in Dracula this fall. Most recently she was seen at Steeplechase Productions as Valérie in L’Atelier d’Écriture, which was performed entirely in French. In Portland, she has worked with The Northwest Children’s Theater, Hillsboro Actor’s Repertory Theater, Tygres Heart Shakespeare Company, Profile Theater Project and Liminal Theater. Carolyn recently completed an intensive training at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Massachusetts. She has also studied clown at Freehold Theater, which has proven immensely useful in this show. A million thanks to Steve for his continued trust and patience, which has helped to open many doors and revive Carolyn’s passion for acting. In January, look for Carolyn in Hamlet at the Eclectic Theater Company or come visit her Herkimer Coffee, where she will make you the best damn latte ever.

Costumer: Sheri Barr- Sheri has been sewing most of her life. When she was 10 years old, her grandmother helped her with her first attempt to sew a dress. In high school and college, home economics was an easy A so Sheri took it every year since it brought her grade-point average up. In college, she had a period of toying with majoring in home economics but in her nutrition class, her class project of depriving mice of a nutrient went south as my mouse had babies and ate them. (She might not have gotten an A that quarter). She is a third-generation seamstress with her paternal grandmother being a lifetime quilter, hat maker, and doll clothes designer her whole life. Her maternal grandmother did laundry for a living, taught Sheri how to use a mangle and in her spare time was a doily artist. This is Sheri’s second play at BLT with Dracula being the first. It will be nice to not have to wash fake blood off of costumes every night.

PRODUCTION MANAGER: Diane Major - is very happy to be back working at BLT, especially on such a fun show. Diane has been involved with community theater for many years, both on the boards and behind the scenes. As a BLT Board member, Diane would like to put in a shameless plug for BLT and let all our audiences know that volunteering can be great fun so why not find out about our volunteer opportunities? We'd love to have you join us! DIRECTOR:Annie Banton - (Director) has had over 20 years’ experience on both sides of the curtain for many theater companies, and has functioned in the multiple roles of Performer, Stage Manager, Director and Producer. Returning to BLT after she directed "Images" for the Bill and Peggy Hunt Playwrights Festival in 2006 and acting as Stage Manager for "Visiting Mr. Green," she is excited and honored to create "I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change" for BLT audiences. Favorite shows she has directed include "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Miracle on 34th Street," and "Five Ghosts of Ebenezer Scrooge." Involving young people and creating first-time staging is her passion. She wishes to thank the BLT Board of Directors for giving her this chance and this brilliantly talented cast and crew for their dedication to this production. Love to husband Mark.

Her next project will involve heading down to Federal Way to music direct Centerstage Theatre's spring 2008 production of "My Fair Lady" – one of her favorite shows. She sends a big “thank you” to Maggie, Annie and the cast of ILYYPNC for all the hard work and enthusiasm which has brought this show so wonderfully to life!
STAGE MANAGER: Jurjen Smies- Jurjen is originally from the Netherlands, where he first became active in English-language community theater in his hometown of The Hague. He played a string of sidekicks in various pantomimes, as well as some “serious” parts, and also gained some backstage experience. He met his wife, Carolyn, during a production of "Romeo and Juliet" in late 2000 (she was doing props, he was playing Paris), and she brought him back with her to Washington state in 2002. While he has done some support work for the a cappella trio Bodacious Ladyhood (of which Carolyn is a member), this is his first time stage managing, and he is very pleased to be doing it at Burien Little Theatre. Jurjen would like to thank Annie Banton for giving him this opportunity, and send his love to Carolyn and their wonderful son, Hendrik.

"I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change" coins Isaiah Crowson's first show at Burien Little Theatre. Just coming off of his last appearance in the premier of Scott Warrender's musical "Blankity-Blank!" Isaiah is looking forward to mixing it up on a Seattle stage for the first time. Some of his prouder moments in his theatrical career were his portrayals of Don Pedro in "Much Ado About Nothing" and Owen Musser in "The Foreigner." Isaiah would like to thank his Mother and Father for refraining from dropping him on his head as a child no matter how annoying he was and Dr. Terri Brown for teaching him how to be a Unicorn. Last but not least, Isaiah would like to thank Elvis Presley for being born on his birthday and supplying him with his musical funkadelics. A-Thank-Ya Very Much.
Annie is excited for her premiere at Burien Little Theater. This is her second production working with director Annie Banton; last Christmas Banton directed Jantzer in Auburn Avenue Dinner Theatre's "Miracle on 34th Street." Annie has a BA in Theatre Arts from Central Washington University, where she also studied vocal performance. Other credits include Fiona in "Brigadoon" and Laury in "Oklahoma!" with Leavenworth Summer Theater, participation (along with many, many other Seattle actors) in 365 Days, 365 Plays by Susan-Lori Parks with Smack Productions, and Tybalt in Paper Trail Production's "Shakespeare on the Troll Romeo and Juliet." In her free time, Annie enjoys kidnapping cats, rapping (poorly) and climbing trees, not necessarily in that order.
Laura hails from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where she began her stage career in the chorus of "Oklahoma!" at age 18. Laura has performed from New York to Alaska, including originating the title role in the New York premier of "Rapunzel the doo-woperetta!" Her other favorite roles include Cinderella in "Into the Woods," Christine in "Phantom of the Opera," Lois/Bianca in "Kiss Me Kate," Georgie in "The Full Monty," and a duck in "H.M.S. Pinafore." Laura created her own one-woman show, "Oh, Lady, Be Good," a tribute to the great ladies of song, which she frequently performs as a headliner for cruise lines and in cabarets. Laura’s greatest achievements in her life thus far have been becoming a professional bingo caller, a master chef with a crock pot, and the greatest auntie on earth in the eyes of her niece and nephews.

Bill misspent his youth deep in the heart of Texas. After shaking the dust off his boots, he left behind his days of cow tipping and, thanks to his grandmother’s season tickets, somehow fell in love with the theater. He went on to perform in "Pump Boys and Dinettes," "Daddy’s Dyin’…Who’s Got The Will?," "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Evita," and "Oklahoma!" As a frequent presenter and performer for cruise lines, for the past decade Bill has appeared for Delta Queen Steamboat Company, Majestic America Line, Holland America Line, and Princess Cruises. Bill has enjoyed having three of his writing efforts produced for the stage. Bill also presents corporate motivational keynote speeches about Leadership Lessons from the Lewis and Clark Expedition. As a member of DFA (Deep Fried Anonymous), he has gone more than 6 months now without a chicken fried steak.

Violin: Lisa Timm - This is Lisa’s first show with Burien Little Theatre. "I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change" is one of her favorite musicals. Sheri’s maternal grandmother did laundry for a living, taught Sheri how to use a mangle and in her spare time was a doily artist. This is Sheri’s third play at BLT with "Dracula" being the first. Sheri says it will be nice to not have to wash fake blood off of costumes every night.
